She has been through more than 70 surgeries to repair her joints and skin. Her next surgery, scheduled for October 13th, is to repair her knees.

Amy Schneider, a 30-year-old mom of two, is no stranger to the gym. She’s been working out since she was 14 years old and has been a Zumba instructor for the past five years. So when she found out that she needed surgery on her knee in May, she was devastated. And while most people would have taken some time off from their regular fitness routine, Amy decided to do something different: She started training for an Ironman competition instead.
Amy says that her decision wasn’t just about proving her strength — it was about proving her worth as a mother and wife. “I wanted to show my family how much I love them,” she explains in an interview with Fox News Insider. “I wanted them to understand that even though I’m going through this hard time right now, it’s not going to define who I am.”
