The Casamigos website doesn’t say what the alcohol percentage is of their tequila. I have also contacted them and they have not yet responded. However, as a rule of thumb, most tequilas are 40% alcohol.

Casamigos Blanco and Reposado tequilas have 40% alcohol.

Casamigos Reposado is a favorite among tequila connoisseurs and celebrities alike. Casamigos Reposado is rested for seven months in American white oak barrels, giving it a deliciously complex taste with hints of caramel and cocoa and a silky smooth finish.

Created by longtime friends George Clooney, Rande Gerber and Mike Meldman, Casamigos was born from a desire to have the best-tasting, smoothest tequila around for themselves and their friends. The name “Casamigos” (house of friends) was chosen because the house was where they enjoyed spending their time. The tequila was created for them to drink personally, with no intent of starting a business. But after countless blind taste tests and years of refining the recipe, Casamigos became so popular among their friends that they decided to share it publicly with the world.

After two years of perfecting our ultra-premium tequila recipe and distillation process, we are proud to offer you our Blanco and Reposado tequilas — both crafted with 100% Blue Weber agave sourced from the Highlands of Jalisco, Mexico. After harvest, our agave is baked in small brick oven

Last night, I attended the Casamigos Halloween Party, thrown by George Clooney and Rande Gerber. The party was held at a huge house in the Hollywood Hills that included a pool, Jacuzzi, grass lawns and a pizza oven.

The tequila brand has been co-owned by Clooney and Gerber for the past five years, with Michael Meldman joining as an investor two years later.

I sipped on Casamigos margaritas throughout the night but of course had to ask Clooney about his favorite way to drink it. He said he likes it on the rocks with just a pinch of salt…

Our Reposado is aged to perfection in American white oak barrels for 7 months. Aromas: caramel, vanilla, honey. Flavors: butterscotch, cinnamon and chocolate.

In celebration of the tequila industry’s great strides in quality, we’ve compiled a list of the best bottles of tequila you can buy.

For this ranking, we considered both cost and quality, giving preference to those that deliver a superior taste for their price point.

We also limited our search to 100% agave tequilas; while some mixed tequilas can be pleasant, they lack the smoothness and complexity of pure agave varieties.

For extra guidance, we turned to Aaron Goldfarb’s “Hacking Whiskey” (F&W Media), a book that explores how to find the best whiskey for your money. Goldfarb writes that “with the right knowledge, you can open your wallet wide at fine restaurants or liquor stores without fear.”

This is not a bad tequila. The nose was very clean and the taste was smooth, light and citrusy. It’s not too complex, but I enjoyed it. I would say it’s comparable to Milagro Reposado, which is probably the best reposado tequila I’ve had (and one of the best values in reposado tequilas). I definitely prefer this over Cazadores Reposado.

The price is high on this one (around $50 or so), but I think it’s worth it for a good quality reposado tequila.
