You may ask, how does discoloration occur in the first place? There are two main reasons why hyperpigmentation occurs: sun exposure and inflammation.
Hyperpigmentation is caused when your skin produces an excess amount of melanin, which is a natural pigment in the skin that gives it its color. This happens when our skin cells’ melanocyte receptors are damaged by things like inflammation, hormonal changes and sun exposure.
When it comes to sun damage, those UV rays from the sun can be brutal! They can cause everything from wrinkles to age spots. However, too much sun exposure can also inflame your skin, making hyperpigmentation even worse by causing dark spots and uneven skin tone.
Now that we know what hyperpigmentation is and what causes it, let’s talk about how to prevent and treat it.
Does the Good Molecules Discoloration Serum Work?
The color of your skin isn’t the only marker of a person’s health. In fact, the color of your skin can be indicative of how healthy you are at any given moment.
In addition to tone and texture, discoloration is one of the most common signs of aging — but does the Good Molecules discoloration serum actually work? Here’s what we know about this beauty product.
What is the Good Molecules discoloration serum?
Good Molecules is known for its affordable products that are made with high-quality ingredients. The brand believes that “beautiful skin shouldn’t be a luxury” — and its products reflect this. The brand creates everything from face masks to serums, oils, scrubs and more.
The Good Molecules discoloration correcting serum is one of the brand’s most popular products. This brightening serum contains both vitamin C and niacinamide, which are two ingredients known to help fade dark spots and even out your complexion over time. Other ingredients include tranexamic acid (which helps fight hyperpigmentation), sodium hyaluronate (to keep your skin hydrated) and hydrolyzed hyaluronic acid (to help your skin retain moisture).
Good Molecules Discoloration Serum is one of the new skincare products that I am currently testing. I’ve been testing it for a month and here are my results and experience.
I am going to write about this product in two posts: the first one is a review of the product, the second one is a comparison of this product with other Good Molecules products.
I’m always on the hunt for a new serum because my skin is extremely dry. I recently started using Good Molecules’ discoloration serum, which contains tranexamic acid, vitamin C, and niacinamide. After a week of use, I’ve experienced some tingling and redness but not any major irritation or breakouts. My skin has also stayed hydrated, and I’m hoping to see more results in the coming weeks.
Here’s my full review after using it for a week:
I have dry, sensitive skin that’s prone to breakouts. The combination of hydrating ingredients like niacinamide, hyaluronic acid, and ceramides with the tranexamic acid made this serum very appealing to me.
The ingredients in Good Molecules’ discoloration correcting serum are meant to brighten dark spots, reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and also help keep your skin hydrated. It contains tranexamic acid, which is often an ingredient found in medicines used to treat hyperpigmentation and melasma. There’s also vitamin C and niacinamide (vitamin B3) – two ingredients that are often found together because they work extremely well together to reduce
Good Molecules Discoloration Correcting Serum is an affordable serum that uses tranexamic acid and vitamin C to visibly brighten skin. Tranexamic acid is a synthetic amino acid that inhibits the transfer of melanin to cells, helping to prevent dark spots.
I’ve used it for a few months now (applied at night, after retinol and before moisturizer) and I have to say it does seem to help with discoloration. It’s not a miracle product by any means, but I do think it helps fade skin discolorations over time (including scars), just like its pricier counterparts.
The packaging is also really nice — the dropper bottle feels sturdy and well made (unlike some other similar products), and the serum itself is thin, clear, with no noticeable scent.
Discoloration is one of the main skincare concerns for women over the age of 30. They can be caused by hormones, sun damage, acne scarring and other factors.
As you age, your skin’s ability to exfoliate decreases. That makes discoloration more common and harder to treat with topical medications like hydroquinone (which can cause skin irritation).
Some skincare brands have begun to use natural ingredients that offer similar benefits without the irritation. Good Molecules Discoloration Serum* uses niacinamide and kojic acid to help reduce hyperpigmentation.
I’ve been using this serum for about 2 months now. In the beginning, I was seeing some results, but now I’m not sure it’s doing much anymore.
I thought it would help me with my acne scars but it hasn’t. It may be a good product but I think it’s too drying for my skin type.
It might not be the best product for sensitive skin because my face broke out after using this product.
I’ve dabbled in vitamin C serums before, but have never actually seen any results. I have some sun damage and dark spots that are leftover from my teen years of tanning. When I first started using this serum, I really thought it was going to be the same thing. But my mind was blown.
This serum is strong stuff. The directions say to use it only once a day (at night), and for good reason! It has 20% vitamin C! I’ve used it for about a month now, and I can definitely see a difference in my skin’s tone. And my skin has NEVER looked better!
How Long does Good Molecules Discoloration Serum Take to Work?
Good Molecules discoloration serum takes time to work.
Good Molecules discoloration serum is a serum that works to lessen the appearance of discoloration such as dark spots and hyperpigmentation. The formula contains niacinamide, a form of vitamin B3, and tranexamic acid, which work together to brighten your skin tone.
Discoloration serum can take up to 12 weeks to show results. Use twice a day for best results.
Good Molecules discoloration serum is made for all skin types, but is ideal for those with dark spots or hyperpigmentation. To use the serum, apply it on cleansed and toned skin. It can be used morning and evening.
It’s important to know that results aren’t overnight. When using the serum, use a broad-spectrum SPF daily to keep your skin protected from UV rays, which can cause further discoloration. With consistent use, you should see improvement in the appearance of discoloration in 4-6 weeks.
I have been using Good Molecules Discoloration Serum for about 3 weeks, and I have to say that it is my favorite skin care product. Most serums are so expensive, but this one is a great deal. It feels very light on the skin and absorbs quickly without leaving a greasy residue.
It is supposed to help reduce the appearance of dark spots, sun spots and discoloration. After using it for 3 weeks, I can see some improvement in my skin (my pores look smaller and my skin tone looks more even).
I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who wants to improve their skin tone.
Good Molecules Discoloration Correcting Serum is a light, oil-free serum that helps to fade the appearance of dark spots and hyperpigmentation.
The formula contains tranexamic acid, an amino acid derivative that helps to lighten discolored skin for an even complexion.
Niacinamide, also known as vitamin B3, improves uneven skin tone in combination with tranexamic acid.
This potent serum also contains birch sap extract, which is rich in amino acids and minerals. It delivers moisture to the skin without leaving it greasy or sticky.
The discoloration serum takes about a month to start working. In this time, you will notice your skin becoming more radiant and supple since the niacinamide helps repair the skin barrier. After a month of consistent use, you will notice the discoloration lightening. The results are similar to hydroquinone but without any of the downsides!
I have used this for about a month now and I see results. I have suffered from melasma for two years and only recently it has gotten better with the help of this serum. It really lightens up my dark spots, it doesn’t completely remove them but it does make them lighter. I use this twice a day morning and night and I apply the ordinary niacinamide serum after.
My skin is slightly sensitive but it’s not enough for this product to irritate me or cause any redness. But a quick tip is to always wear sunscreen when using this serum because as with any other product that lightens your skin you are prone to sun damage which will make your dark spots even darker!!!
