The Supreme Committee says it has delivered 85% of what was promised at the last inspection by FIFA officials in March 2017. Only four stadiums remain to be built – three football grounds and one venue for other sports such as tennis or beach volleyball.

The tiny Gulf state, which has only 1.8 million citizens, will have to build nine new stadiums, including one with a capacity of 80,000 people, and remodel six existing ones in time for the tournament.
